The Maranatha Christian Church Sunday Bible School held on March 22, 2026, was broadcast live from Domingos Martins, Espírito Santo, Brazil, with Pastors Alexandre Gueiros, Gilson Sousa, and Wallace Rozetti participating.
Spiritual Preparation and the Lord’s Direction
In the opening message, Pastor Wallace Rozetti highlighted Deuteronomy 8:7–10, emphasizing that the Promised Land represents the fullness of spiritual life, marked by abundance and the Lord’s constant provision.
Continuing the study, Pastor Gilson Sousa recalled that during the wilderness, the Lord sustained His people with manna, symbolizing the Lord Jesus as the Bread of Life. In the Promised Land, however, there is abundance—pointing to the outpouring of the Holy Spirit and the richness of the revealed Word. This experience prepares the Church to conquer lives for the Kingdom of God.
He also emphasized that preparation for this conquest involves sanctification, obedience, and communion with the Lord. The circumcision of the heart and the Passover point to a life set apart, while the manifestation of the Commander of the Lord’s army to Joshua reveals that the plans for victory come directly from God, not from human reasoning.
Victory Through Obedience and Faith
The conquest of Jericho demonstrated that victory comes through obedience to the Lord’s direction. The strategy revealed by God showed that His people must rely on the Holy Spirit’s guidance. The silence of the people and the sound of the trumpets symbolize a life attentive to the Lord’s voice and dependent on His revelation.
Pastor Alexandre Gueiros highlighted that the Ark of the Covenant going before the people represented the presence of God, guaranteeing victory. Today, this points to the Lord Jesus, Emmanuel, who leads His Church in the spiritual battle for souls.
Rahab’s account further revealed the value of one soul. By faith, she and her household were saved through the sign of the scarlet cord, a symbol of Jesus’ blood. This teaches that salvation comes by faith and that the mystery of the blood is understood and lived by the Church.
The study concluded by emphasizing that the Lord continues to reveal His plan of evangelism to His Church today. Through prayer, fasting, and obedience, the Church advances in the conquest, and as the Gospel is proclaimed, lives are transformed, and the name of the Lord Jesus is made known throughout the earth.
