  • Philadelphia Church Dedication Marks a Historic Moment for Maranatha Christian Church

A Day of Spiritual Joy, Doctrinal Teaching, and the Advancement of God’s Work in the United States

Maranatha Christian Church in Philadelphia saw significant attendance at the dedication service.

The Maranatha Christian Churches (MCC) in North America experienced a moment of great spiritual joy and fellowship in the presence of the Lord during the consecration of a church in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

The building, acquired by the Brazilian Presbytery in December 2025, welcomed a significant number of members and visitors from Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, and Delaware. Pastors from other evangelical denominations were also present, joining the congregation in this glorious occasion.

Despite the intense cold and the imminent threat of a snowstorm, those in attendance were not discouraged and left strengthened by the evident moving of the Holy Spirit.

The President of the Maranatha Christian Church worldwide, Pastor Alexandre Gueiros, participated live in the service via Zoom, expressing his joy and satisfaction with the new church building, which will meet the local church’s needs and enable even greater growth of the Work.

Pastors Diniz Cypreste and Antônio Carlos de Oliveira, members of the Presbytery Council from Brazil, were also present, witnessing the expansion of God’s Work in the United States. The President of Maranatha Christian Church of America, Pastor Humberto Henriques, emphasized the church’s role in the local community.

Mini-Seminar Brings Teaching and Preparation to the Congregation

Before the Dedication Service, the brethren participated in a mini-seminar with three edifying classes. The first teaching was given by Pastor Antônio Carlos de Oliveira, member of the Presbytery Council, addressing the foundations of the Work. Parallels were drawn between the Work of Saul and the Work of David, highlighting through God’s Word the consequences of following personal interests versus the blessings that come when God’s direction prevails.

In the second class, Pastor Renato Hott, from Canada, ministered on the theme “The Work as a Way of Life,” focusing on the calling of the prophet Samuel and the importance of a life fully devoted to God’s Work.

Pastors from Brazil, from Canada, and from the Northeast US were in attendance.

The third class was taught by Pastor Diniz Cypreste, also a member of the Presbytery Council, presenting the History of the Work. Based on Habakkuk 1:5, he shared experiences from the early days of the Maranatha Christian Church. He encouraged the church to actively engage in the Work of the Holy Spirit, following the Lord’s guidance.

During the mini-seminar, children and teenagers also participated in doctrinal teachings, rehearsed worship songs with the Junior Orchestra, and engaged in educational and recreational activities that reinforced learning about God’s Word, gratitude, and love for the Lord.
