Church represented for the second time at one of the most significant faith and civic gatherings in the United States

The Maranatha Christian Church participated in the 74th National Prayer Breakfast, held in Washington, D.C., one of the most prominent events on the United States’ political and religious calendar. This marks the second time the Brazil-based church with branches worldwide has received an official invitation to attend the gathering.
The first participation took place in 2019, when the church was represented by its then-president, Pastor Geodetic Victalino Teixeira Gueiros. In 2026, the Maranatha Christian Church was represented by its current president, Pastor Alexandre Gueiros.

The event’s program included meetings throughout the day, activities at the U.S. Capitol, and gatherings at the Washington Hilton Hotel, culminating in an evening dinner. Organizers reported that approximately 3,500 invited guests attended, including religious leaders, political authorities, and international representatives.
This year’s edition emphasized prayer as a source of national unity. President Donald Trump delivered remarks during the event, addressing the importance of defending religious freedom.
Held annually since 1953, the National Prayer Breakfast is a nonpartisan event that brings together leaders from diverse backgrounds for moments of reflection and prayer for the nation and the world.
Maranatha! The Lord Jesus is coming.
