The Maranatha Christian Church Sunday Bible School held on March 15, 2026, was broadcast live from the Communications Center of TV and Radio Maanaim in Vila Velha, Espírito Santo, Brazil, with Pastors Alexandre Gueiros, Gilson Sousa, and Marcelo Ferreira participating.

A Prophetic Transition: From the Wilderness to the Promise Land

Pastor Gilson Sousa introduced the message by presenting the crossing of the Jordan River as a prophetic moment of transition—marking the end of one cycle and the beginning of another. In the Scriptures, the Jordan represents a decisive change: the end of the wilderness journey and the beginning of life in the Promised Land.

He highlighted biblical examples that reflect this transition: the Lord Jesus beginning His public ministry after His baptism in the Jordan, Naaman being cleansed of leprosy, and the transition from Elijah’s ministry to Elisha’s. In the same way, Israel left behind forty years in the wilderness to enter a new season of victories and fulfillment of God’s promises.

The Crossing as a Figure of the Baptism with the Holy Spirit

Continuing the study, Pastor Marcelo Ferreira explained that the crossing of the Jordan is a prophetic figure of the believer’s baptism with the Holy Spirit. Before this experience, there is knowledge of the Word and identity, but afterward comes transformation, abundance, and deeper spiritual understanding.

He emphasized that the overflowing waters of the Jordan symbolize the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, as prophesied in Joel 2:28. This new phase is marked by spiritual gifts, the revealed Word, and a clearer understanding of God’s plan for the Church.

Pastor Marcelo also highlighted the importance of obedience, recalling how Israel followed the Ark of the Covenant—representing the presence of the Lord Jesus—trusting His direction along a path they had never walked before. Likewise, the Church today is called to walk in obedience to the Word and to the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

The twelve stones taken from the Jordan were presented as a prophetic symbol: the visible stones representing Israel and the hidden stones pointing to the Church, which would later be revealed.

The Promised Land: A Life of Abundance and Victory

In the concluding message, Pastor Alexandre Gueiros emphasized that the Ark going before the people represents the Lord Jesus, our Good Shepherd, who leads and grants victory. In the wilderness, Israel received only what was necessary, but in the Promised Land, they experienced abundance.

He explained that this new land represents the life of the Church after the baptism with the Holy Spirit—marked by spiritual abundance, victories, and the expansion of God’s Kingdom through evangelism.

Pastor Alexandre highlighted that the end of manna and the beginning of eating the produce of the land symbolize the richness and variety of the revealed Word. The Promised Land, with its rivers, fruits, and abundance, reflects the fullness of spiritual life in Christ.

The message concluded with an exhortation to perseverance, obedience, and commitment to the Work of God, as the Church continues advancing toward the fulfillment of His promises and the hope of the Heavenly Jerusalem.
