The Tabernacle and the Offerings: Christ Revealed in His Sacrifice and Life
The Maranatha Christian Church Sunday Bible School of January 11th, 2026, was held live from the Communications Center of Rádio e TV Maanaim, in Vila Velha, Espírito Santo, Brazil, with the participation of Pastors Alexandre Gueiros, Gilson Sousa, and Marcelo Ferreira.
The study continued the series on the Tabernacle, revealing the prophetic meanings that point to the Lord Jesus Christ, emphasizing His work of redemption and His perfect life as revealed through the offerings described in the book of Leviticus.
The Grain Offering: Christ Revealed in His Life
In his message, Pastor Marcelo Ferreira emphasized that all the elements of the Tabernacle prophetically reveal Christ. Based on Hebrews 10:10, the study highlighted how Jesus offered Himself once and for all.
The lesson reviewed the offerings already studied—such as the burnt offering—and then focused on the grain offering, the only offering without blood or death. This offering revealed how Christ lived for us, as the perfect Man.
The grain offering was composed of fine flour, oil, frankincense, and salt, each element pointing to the Lord Jesus:
- Fine flour (wheat) represented Christ as the Word of God and the perfection of His humanity.
- Oil symbolized the Holy Spirit, revealing that Jesus lived and ministered fully anointed by God.
- Frankincense spoke of prayer and glorification, showing Christ as a Man of prayer whose life ascended as a sweet aroma to God.
- Salt represented God’s eternal covenant, preservation, and the heavenly flavor found in Christ’s words.
The study also emphasized that leaven and honey were forbidden in the offering, symbolizing false doctrine and human emotions that can distort God’s revealed plan. What the Lord has revealed is sufficient and must be preserved in purity within the Church.
Sin, Guilt, and Peace Offerings: Christ Revealed in Redemption
In his message, Pastor Alexandre Gueiros addressed the sin offering and the guilt offering, explaining that through the blood of Jesus, forgiveness, cleansing, and justification are made available to all who repent and believe.
The guilt offering showed that Christ not only forgave sin but also paid the full debt, declaring the believer righteous before God. Through His sacrifice, we owe nothing more; we are forgiven and justified by grace.
With sin and guilt resolved, the believer can then partake in the peace offering and the sacrifice of praise, celebrating reconciliation, fellowship, and peace with God. Through Christ, the church now has bold access to the throne of grace, worshiping God in spirit and in truth.
The lesson concluded by affirming that all the offerings on the bronze altar represent blessings secured for us by Jesus—forgiveness, purification, justification, peace with God, and fellowship with the Father.
