The Maranatha Christian Church Sunday Bible School of November 30, 2025, was transmitted live from the Communications Center of Radio and TV Maanaim in Vila Velha, Espírito Santo, with the participation of Pastors Alexandre Gueiros, Gilson Sousa, and Antônio Carlos de Oliveira.
The Tabernacle as a Prophetic Revelation of Christ
Pastor Gilson continued the study of the Tabernacle, emphasizing how each detail prophesied of the Lord Jesus. The purpose of the study, he explained, is to know the Lord more deeply so that the Church may desire His coming with increasing longing.
He highlighted the biblical foundation of the Tabernacle as a prophetic figure of Christ, citing Hebrews, where Jesus is presented as the High Priest of the true Tabernacle established by God, not by man (Hebrews 8:1–2, 5).
The Dwelling of God Among His People
Pastor Alexandre expanded on how the Tabernacle reveals both the person of the Lord Jesus and the identity of His Church. According to him, everything written in Scripture was recorded for the instruction and hope of God’s people (Romans 15:4).
He emphasized that Jesus—the Word made flesh—“tabernacled” among humanity, teaching that God dwells among His people. In the Tabernacle, every blessing given to Israel came through the presence of the Lord; today, every blessing for the Church likewise comes through Jesus, His sacrifice, and His intercession.
Pastor Alexandre highlighted the meaning of the materials used in the Tabernacle:
- Fine linen, representing the righteousness and sanctification granted to the Church.
- Bronze, symbolizing God’s judgment.
- Silver, pointing to redemption through the blood of Jesus.
- Wood, portraying humanity and the Lord’s work in His servants.
The acacia-wood pillars, supported by bronze bases and connected by silver hooks, illustrated justification, sanctification, and redemption—all made possible through Christ.
The Curtains and the Call to Holiness
Pastor Antônio Carlos continued the study by focusing on the curtains that surrounded the Tabernacle. From a distance, the white linen appeared simple and even blended with the desert, but inside, it revealed the holiness and beauty of God’s presence. He noted that holiness was established in the Old Testament through separation from the world and is now written in the hearts of believers by the Holy Spirit.
He described the inner court as spacious and accessible, symbolizing the open invitation of salvation. The door of the Tabernacle, made of embroidered curtains, illustrated the universal call Jesus extends to all people (Matthew 11:28; John 10:9). Although salvation is freely offered, he explained, the Christian walk—symbolized by the narrow path—requires perseverance, prayer, and faithfulness.
The door’s four colors revealed the attributes of Jesus and the message of the Gospels:
- Blue for divinity,
- Purple for kingship,
- Scarlet for sacrifice,
- White linen for holiness.
Pastor Antônio Carlos also emphasized that the Tabernacle stood at the center of the tribes of Israel, demonstrating that protection, blessing, and direction were tied to nearness to God. Likewise, spiritual safety for believers today is found in constant fellowship with the Lord.
To conclude the Bible School, Pastor Alexandre read from Revelation 21:3, affirming the promise that God will dwell with His people forever. The message emphasized that the Tabernacle continues to reveal the work of Jesus and the hope of the Church as it journeys toward the heavenly Canaan.
