“And there will be a tabernacle for shade in the daytime from the heat, for a place of refuge, and for a shelter from storm and rain.”

The Sunday Bible School on November 23, 2025, was held live from the Maranatha Christian Church Plano 100 Church in Vila Velha, Espírito Santo, with Pastors Alexandre Gueiros, Gilson Sousa, Marcelo Ferreira, and Diniz Azevedo participating. The study continued the series on how the Tabernacle reveals the Lord Jesus.

Knowing Jesus Through the Tabernacle

Pastor Gilson greeted the brethren and emphasized the purpose of the study: to know the Lord Jesus more deeply through the prophetic symbolism of the Tabernacle. Every element of the structure points to Jesus and awakens in the church an even greater desire for His return.

The Entrance of the Tabernacle

Pastor Marcelo reminded the church that earlier studies explored the attributes of Jesus in Revelation. Now, the focus turns to the entrance of the Tabernacle, a prophetic figure of salvation in Christ.

The Tabernacle had only one door, made of a curtain supported by four pillars and woven with four colors—blue, purple, scarlet, and fine linen. This entrance pointed directly to Jesus, the only way to salvation.

  • Blue revealed His divinity.
  • Purple showed His royalty.
  • Scarlet pointed to His sacrifice and blood.
  • Fine linen represented His perfect holiness.

The door stood wide and accessible on the east side, showing that the invitation of salvation is open to all. Passing through the curtain required no physical effort, revealing that salvation comes by grace through faith alone. The four pillars and four colors also symbolized the four Gospels, which announce Jesus to the world.

The Curtain Around the Tabernacle

Pastor Diniz spoke about the woven linen curtain that surrounded the Tabernacle. Crafted with care, this curtain symbolized sanctification—a life separated from the world.

Although everyone enters through grace, the Lord calls His people to holiness. The linen, offered and woven by the people, represents the united work of the church, sustained by the Holy Spirit.

From a distance, the curtain seemed ordinary. But only those who entered the Tabernacle could see its beauty and understand its meaning. So it is with the mysteries of God: those who answer His call experience His revelation.

The curtain stood on pillars with silver sockets (redemption) and bronze bases (God’s justice). These elements show that the Lord keeps His people standing—not by human effort, but by the work He accomplished in us.

The pillars were only five cubits high, the height of an ordinary person, demonstrating that we are simply people sustained by God’s grace. To know what happened inside the Tabernacle, one needed to enter—another symbol pointing to Jesus as the only door.

And as Israel camped around the Tabernacle, every tribe stood at equal distance from the sanctuary, revealing that God grants equal access to His presence. The curtain also separated the Tabernacle from the desert, just as sanctification separates the church from the world.

A Pattern for the Journey

Pastor Alexandre emphasized that Moses built the Tabernacle exactly according to the pattern revealed by God, and the people carried it through the wilderness until they reached Canaan.

Likewise, the church walks together toward the heavenly Canaan, sustained by the presence of the Lord Jesus, who never separates Himself from His church. As we discern the signs of the times, we rejoice in knowing that we draw near to the promises of God and to the heavenly Jerusalem.
